Homayra Adiba
A fun fact about my name: My father never gave me a surname. My name thus consists of two first names. He wanted me to make my own name in the world.

Hi there,
স্বাগতম
I believe in the power of storytelling.
I am a multidisciplinary artist and student anthropologist, born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 2016, I migrated to Michigan, USA, and this experience impunged me to reconsider the concept of 'Home,' influencing my artistic practices along the way.
I am interested in art informed by research. Having graduated in Professional Photography from Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, I steered my journey towards an Associate in Fine Arts and recently graduated from Schoolcraft College in 2024.
Currently, I am studying at the University of Michigan, with a Sub-Major in Culture and Media and a Minor in Museum Studies. My research looks into how the categorization of "essential workers" shaped social, political, and moral ideologies among retail workers and customers amid the COVID-19 Pandemic in a superstore.
I am currently working as the
-

-
Peer Mentor Committee Lead at optiMize.
-
Learning Support and Services Assistant at Schoolcraft College.
